Health & Wellness

Medical Team

Our team of nurses live on-site and are available 24/7 to care for campers and distribute medications as needed. Our on call pediatrician is also available around the clock. In the event of an emergency, the nearest hospital is just 13 minutes from camp.

Tick & Mosquito Precautions

Berkshire Trails partners with Ivy Oaks Analytics, a public health organization that provides certification in mosquito, tick, and poison ivy control. Our grounds are regularly treated and monitored to maintain a safe outdoor environment. In addition, our staff are trained to watch for any signs of tick bites, and our medical team is available to perform checks whenever needed.

Laundry Service

Camp laundry is collected weekly and washed on-site in our commercial machines.

Camper Support

We know that some campers may need extra encouragement as they adjust to camp life. Our Camper Care team works closely with head counselors and directors to provide additional support, helping every child feel comfortable, confident, and ready to thrive.

Staff Hiring, Training & Orientation

We are deeply committed to hiring and training the highest quality staff. Every applicant completes a thorough application process and interviews with multiple directors before being considered. As an ACA-accredited camp, we conduct multiple background checks for all staff.

Before campers arrive, all staff participate in a full week of orientation led by our director team. This training covers safety procedures, camp policies, and strategies for creating a safe, fun, and supportive environment—ensuring that the care and well-being of our campers is always the top priority.
