Optional Program for Rising 11th Graders
Lead, Inspire, Repeat
The LIT Program at Berkshire Trails Camp is a hands-on leadership experience designed for rising 11th graders who are ready to take the next step in their camp journey. This optional program blends responsibility, skill-building, mentorship, and fun, preparing participants to become confident and capable leaders. LITs are encouarged to take the next step the following summer by becoming Counselors-in-Training (CITs).
Grow & Shine
Throughout the program, LITs take part in discussions, workshops, hands-on experiences, and service opportunities that focus on communication, teamwork, decision-making, responsibility, and practical life skills. They also begin to experience camp from a different perspective by learning what it means to mentor younger campers, contribute to the community, and serve as a role model. The Leaders in Training program gives campers the opportunity to grow personally while beginning to prepare for future leadership and staff opportunities at Berkshire Trails and back home.
During the program week, LITs are schedule for 1 period per day for workshops that are led by Berkshire Trails Directors. LITs select their own schedule for the other 5 periods per day along side other campers in their division.
The LIT Program is more than a training track. It’s a transformational summer of growth, purpose, and mentorship that prepares teens to become the next generation of Berkshire Trails leaders.
